5/25/24 Memorial Day Classic results

PRO E85 recap for Memorial Day Classic at Great Lakes Dragaway. We had 15 cars show up. Tim “Broke Ass” Johnson came out with  a new engine combination but had fuel delivery issues and was not able to compete. Mike Phipps had some mechanical issues and also was not able to compete. Both will be back soon. After 2 rounds of qualifying, Rob”Bad Habit”Keller came out with a 8.913 to claim Farmer Joe and Darlene Hopp #1 qualifier. The “Assassin “came out for the first time this year and said “Im Back” Look out, the “Assassin is ready. After 4 rounds the final was set. John “Dream Crusher “ Blanchard vs Rob “Bad Habit”Keller. This was Johns Second final appearance in a row. The tree came down and Keller got the advantage off the line giving Rob Keller his first win in 2024.  Rob Keller won the HPL Superior Lubricant winner bonus, Randy and Collen Lee “Bounty Hunter” Bonus for beating Phil Palicke. Nick Dinga won the  Randy and Collen Lee “ Bounty Hunter “Bonus for beating last years race winner  Rich” Burnout”Black. Steve “ Wheelie King” Penrod won the Grimler Automotive “Reaction time bonus with a .014.  Thank You Great Lakes Staff for providing an awesome track all day. Race recap for  PRO E85. We had 11 drivers show up to compete in the first  NSCB @ Great Lakes Dragaway.  Peter Shannon had some issues with his car and was not able to make a pass. Butch Smith had a fuel pump fail. Swapped it out and  the back up pump leaked. Both these guys will be ready for 5/25/24. After 2 rounds of qualifying. Rob Vinezeano got the Farmer Joe and Darlene Hopp #1 qualifier with a 8.933 .Phil Palicke got the Grimler Automotive reaction time bonus with a .010. After 4 rounds of racing. The final was set between Phil Palicke and John Blanchard. Phil accidentally doubled bulbed John Blanchard , John Blanchard accidentally rolled thru the beams and an automatic disqualification , Giving Phil Palicke his first ever win and i believe first ever win for a ford powered PRO E85 car. Phil Palicke won the HPL superior Lubricant winner bonus also. Congratulations Phil. Thank you Dan Davinci for your support and sponsorship. Race recap for X E85 for 5/11/24. We had only four cars come out for the first event of 2024. Brad Lamprecht came out swinging with the Grimler Automotive #1 one qualifying spot with a 10.002and Victor Trout with a 10.003for runner up. The final was set between Brad Lamprecht and Robert Staehlin. This was Roberts first ever final.  When the lights came down, it was Brad getting his first win of 2024. Congratulations to Brad Lamprecht. Mike Vinezeano got the Mr. Fabulous reaction time bonus .

Race recap for PRO E85 8/31/24 Time Machine Nationals. What a great day of racing. We had 20 PRO E85 drivers  show up. 2 days before this race, Aaron Miller and no engine in his car. Mike Phipps and Aidan Phipps picked  Aarons engine up from DME. 3 hours later car was running and Aaron was loading his car to defend his Points Standing. Hats off to Mike and Aidan for always helping members.  After 2 rounds of qualifying, Rob Vinezeano won the Farmer Joe  and Darlene Hopp # 1 qualifier with a 8.901. 16 cars qualified with a 8.90

 After 5 rounds of racing the final was set. Rob Vinezeano vs John Blanchard, Rob Broke out and gave John Blanchard the win. John dedicated that win to his Mom and Dad who is home and unable to make it. John and Matthew Johnson went home and woke Johns dad up around 1 am to celebrate the win with him ❤️. Rob Vinezeano  won the Randy and Collens Lee Bounty Hunter Bonus for beating Butch Smith , Previous race winner. John also won the HPL Superior Lubricant Winner Bonus. Aidan Phipps won the Gary Grimler reaction time bonus with a .001. PRO E85 recap for 9/8/24 @ US41 Dragstrip. We had 14 drivers show up to compete. After 2 rounds of qualifying, Frank Morgan won the Farmer Joe and Darlene Hopp #1 qualifier with a 5.70. We had 9 out of 14 qualifying in the 5:70s. After 4 rounds of racing, the final was set between Aaron Miller and Rob Keller. Aaron Miller was able to cross the finish line first and get his first ever win. Congratulations Aaron for all your hard work  and commitment to Pro e85. Aaron also won the Randy and Collen Lee Bounty Hunter bonus bt defeating John Blanchard. HPL Superior Oil Lubricant winner bonus also goes to Aaron. .Race recap from  9/8/24 at US 41 Dragstrip. We had 7 X E85 drivers come to compete.  Bob Finley came out to test his awesome X E85  Vega to work out some bugs.  We also had Bill   Bill Van, Ron Graves and Rob Rodgers come and race with us for the first time. After 2 rounds of qualifying, new comer Bill Van walked away with the Grimler Automotive #1 qualifier with a 6.58. After 3 rounds of racing the final was between Brad Lamprecht and Mike Vinezeano. Brad crossed the finish line first giving him the win and extending his lead in points. With  a 27 point lead going into the last race, this will be decided at the end. Mike Vinezeano won the Mr. Fabulous Photography reaction time bonus with a .058.

.PRO E85 recap for 9/21/24. Last points race. We had 17 drivers show up. Jerry Konstatos came out in his turbo camaro for the first time to run with us.  With the 2024 championship on the line we all knew it was going to be a nail bitter. After 2 rounds of qualifying. Rob Keller won the Farmer Joe and Darlene Hopp #1 qualifier with a 8.904. 3 cars qualified with a 8.90. First round John Blanchard had a red light and was eliminated but his 4th championship was still hopefull. Rob keller need to win 3 rounds to win the 2024 championship but was eliminated in 3rd round. Then Mike Phipps had to win the entire event. Mike and Phil Palicke made it to the final. However just as they got called. A car had catastrophic engine failure and oiled down the track for 2 hours. Great Lakes Dragaway staff did everything to make this final happen. After 2 hours of pacing  back and forth, the bulbs turned green and Mike Phipps won his First ever Pro e85 championship. He also won the Grimler Automotive reaction time with a .001.Mike also won the HPL Superior Lubricant winner bonus. X E85 recap for 9/21/24

We had 11 X E85 drivers show up. We had 2 first time members also, Tina Konstatos and Ken Shurtz. Richard Noodwang came back to race with us for the first time  in 2 years.  With the 2024 championship on the line. Brad Lamprecht came in the race only needing 2 rounds to win. Brad won the Grimler Automotive # qualifier with a 10.005, he also won the event earning him his second X E85 championship. Brad faced off with new member Ken Shurtz in final and took home the win. Ken Shurtz won the Mr. Fabulous Photography reaction time bonus with a .026, and yes his car is a high reving small block with a manual transmission.
