PRO E85 Kicked off the season with the Memorial Day Classic @ Great Lakes Dragaway  5/28/2022. We Had 15 PRO E85 Drivers come to race. Mike Phipps brought his new car out, Tim “Broke Ass” Johnson came out but had transmission issue and was not able to compete. Smith ” Boyz”Racing had some electrical gremlins and was only able to make 1 pass.  Cant say enough about Great Lakes staff for providing an excellent surface for us all day.After 2 rounds of Qualifying, Rich”Burnout”Black got Farmer Joe and Darlene Hopp #1 qualifier with a 8.92 and Langels Pizza in Crown Point winner bonus and HPL Oil Winner Bonus.Butch “Big Dog” Smith got Whites Pit Stop Fan Favorite. John “ Dream Crusher”Blanchard won, Marc’s Auto “Bullseye “Bonus with a 8.907 pass, Randy and Collen lee “Bounty Hunter”Bonus by eliminating Rob”Overkill”Vinezeano in second Round, Valpo Muffler “ Highest wheelie bonus and wond the Davinci reaction time bonus with a .003.The final was set in front of packed Bleachers, #2 qualifier Joe “Blown Crazy” Beach vs Rich “Burnout”Black. What a close race, Joe had a 8.93 to Rich 8.95, Rich “Burnout”Black won his Second Memorial Day Classic in a row on a holeshot. Recap of last Saturday’s NSCB 6/18/2022

We had 12 PRO E85 cars and 11 X E85 cars. Pete Shannon came out with his new car to test Friday but was unable to race for Saturdays race. It was X E85 First race of 2022 and Brad Lamprecht came to defend his 2021 Championship . X E85 new drivers Ray Romito came out to compete and qualified #2 and Tyler Ticer came out but had Transmissions issues. After 2 rounds of qualifying “Joe”Blown Crazy “ Beach got ”Farmer “ Joe and Darlene Hopp #1 qualifier bonus with a 8.902. Aaron Gerling got X E85 #1 qualifier with a 10.035, then after that pass Aarons fuel pump went out but was able to find a loaner from Mike Vinezeano. We had 4 rounds of racing for each group. 2021 Champion Rob”Overkill” Vinezeano in semi finals had a fuel leak and was unable to race in the round. The final was between Joe “Blown Crazy” Beach which was his 3rd final in a row.  He raced Jason”Menance “Grub which was his first ever final. When they crossed the finish ,Jason Grub got the win Light and his first ever PRO E85 win. However Joe Beach has taken over the points lead for the first time. X E85 final was between 2021 Champion Brad Lamprecht vs Aaron Gerling. This was Aaron first ever final round.  Aaron got his first ever X E85 win and had his family by his side to celebrate. Jason Grub  won the “Whites Pit Stop” fan favorite award, Crown point Langels Pizza winner bonus and HPL oil winner bonus. Frank Morgan got Valpo muffler Highest wheelie bonus. Joe Beach won Crown Point Langels Pizza runner up bonus. Dalin Smith won Dan Davinci Reaction time bonus with a .047 and Rob Vinezeano won the Marcs Auto”Bullseye “Bonus. With a 8.908

Recap of 6/26/22 Race at US 41. PRO E85 had 16 cars and X E85 had 12. 2 long time Members Of Pro e85 came out to race for the first time in awhile. Butch”Killer”Klibofske and “Tricky”Ricky Klibofske came out to race. Rick Klibofske right off trailer made an almost perfect pass to Get Farmer Joe and Darlene Hopp #1 Qualifier bonus with a 8.908. Billy”King Pin” Cochran in X E85 came out with an almost perfect pass with a 10.03 to claim #1 Qualifier. Jason Grub came out to defend his last race crown but had an electrical issue and not able to compete. Martin “Lumberjack “Johnson came out  and then decided to hoop in Aaron Millers car to finish Qualifying in Pro e85 which has never made a pass and ran a 9:53. Pro e85 master crew member Matthew Johnson jumped in Martin car and competed in his first ever race, also Aiden Phipps came out for first time to compete in X E85, love seeing second generation members keeping our group alive. After 3 rounds of racing, PRO E85 final was between Rob Vinezeano and Mike Phipps. Phipps put the red bulb  on and gave Rob Vinezeano his first win of 2022. X E85 final was between Rick Noodwang vs Billy Cochran, as Billy went on trans break car stalled and gave Rick Noodwang his first win. Congrats to both winners.  Here are bonus winners Rob Vin got Dan Davinci reactio time bonus with a .00001, also got HPL and Crown Point  Langels Pizza Bonus and Marcs Auto “ Bullseye “Bonus with a 8.910,he also got Randy and Collen lee ”Bounty Hunter “Bonus for putting Rich Black on trailer.  Butch Smith got Valpo Muffler Highest wheelie bonus.                  Recap of 7/16/22 @ Great Lakes Dragaway. PRO E85 had 13 cars and X E85 had 9. Aaron Miller came out with his bad ass Camaro for the first time to race with PRO E85 and qualified 10th with a 9.095 but was able to tune it to make his first ever 8 second pass with a 8.96. After 2 rounds of qualifying John Blanchard got the “ Farmer”Joe and Darlene Hopp #1 qualifier with a perfect 8.900 pass.X E85 Aaron Gerling Qualified with a 10.024. After 4 rounds of racing the finals were between John” Dream Crusher “Blanchard vs  Mike Phipps and  X E85 between Josh Shank and Billy”Kingpin” Cochran. Mike Phipps won His first PRO E85 race of 2022 and Josh Shank made it to his first ever final and won his first ever  X E85 race. Congrats both winners. Billy Cochran Took over the X E85 Points led.Other Bonus Winners, John Blanchard also won, Dan Davinci reaction time bonus with a .006 and Langels Pizza in Crown Point Runner up Bonus. Rich”Burnout”Black won Whites Pit Stop Fan Favorite bonus and took over the 2022 points led.Butch “Big Dog”Smith won another Valpo Mufffler Highest Wheelie Bonus. Mike Phipps won HPL Oil winner Bonus and Langels Pizza in Crown Point Winner Bonus. Randy Lee”Yellow Dog” took out Rob”Overkill” Vinezeano 2nd round to win Randy and Collen Lee “Bounty Hunter” Bonus, Also Butch Smith Took out Jason Grub from the previous race at GLD to get the Randy and Collen Lee “Bounty Hunter” Bonus. Both classes are all close in points and anyone can win to mix the points battle up. See Everyone at US 41 for Area 41 Drags this weekend.

Here is the recap of the Iron man race weekend. We had 2 races in 2 different States in 2 days. Saturday @ Great Lakes Dragaway we had 11 PRO E85 cars. Phil Palicke came out with his Twin turbo Mustang and quailfied 3rd with a 8.913. Welcome to the group. After 2 rounds of qualifying John”Dream Crusher “ Blanchard  got the “Farmer FARMER JOE AND DARLENE Hopp #1 qualifier with a 8.906, 2nd was Mike Phipps with a 8.91. After 3 rounds of racing the final was set between Mike Phipps and John”Dream Crusher “Blanchard. Mother nature rained down on us and they finished the final @Us 41 next morning with John” Dream Crusher “Blanchard getting the win and winning the HPL Superoir oil winner bonus along with Langel’s Pizza in Crown Point winners bonus. John also took out Mike Phipps to win the Randy & Collen Lee “Bounty Hunter Bonus”Saturday, Frank”Assassin “Morgan won the “Whites Pit Stop” Fan favorite bonus along with Valpo Muffler Highest Wheelie bonus. Mike Phipps won the “Dan Davinci “ reaction time bonus along with ”Langel’s pizza in Crown Point “ runner up bonus. Phil Palicke won the Marks Auto “Bulls Eye “Bonus with a 8.93. Sunday “Farmer Joe and Darlene Hopp” Friends and family day was a huge success. Farmer Joe  made 85 pork chops and other members brought food and cake to share. Thank you Joe Hopp and Darlene Hopp and your son and grandkids for all the help and support you give our group. Sunday ,  Mike Phipps won the ”Farmer Joe and Darlene hopp # 1 Qualifier with a 8.92, Randy Lee”Yellow Dog” qualified #2 with a 8.93 and also won the Marks Auto “Bullseye “Bonus with a 8.96. We got 1 round of racing in before it rained. How ever Butch”Killer” Klibofske won the Valpo Muffler highest wheelie bonus. Rob”Overkill “Vinezeano won the Dan Davinci reaction time bonus with a .008. Unfortunately we will not be able to make this race up. I want to thank all the sponsors that came out to support us, Brian Radzinski from Langels’s Pizza,  Marc Slavich from Marks Auto, and of Course Joe and Darlene Hopp.  Thank you all our friends and family for coming out to support us also. Steve Keys the track was perfect, you definitely made it hook.

Im doing separate write ups for our 2 groups from this past weekend.  Here is a recap of our 2-day race weekend and Sunday being our “FARMER JOE AND DARLENE HOPP “Friends & Family Day”. Saturday Great Lakes Dragaway we had 11 X E85 cars . Aiden Phipps came to race but had engine problems. Later that night ,Mike Phipps and Aiden went home and pulled the engine out trying to make the Sunday race, they worked on it until 3 am but was not able to repair it.After 2 rounds of qualifying Doyle Jones qualified with a 10.003, second place was by Billy”Kingpin”Cochran with a 10.010. This entire group has their cars dialed in. Josh Shank took home the” Mr. Fabulous”reaction time bonus for Both days with a .043.  Aaron Gerling had transmissions issues and after the race drove to Josh Shanks, Jacob Mance shop 2 hours away. Jacob pulled the trans out of his nova to give to Aaron to put in his car.They worked on the car until 4 am and showed up at US 41 “ Friends and Family to race” Off the trailer Aaron Gerling made a 10.009 pass to qualify #2, yes #2 with a 10.009 because Brad Lamprecht qualified # 1 with a 10.002, also Ben Kelly qualified 3rd with a 10.034, 4th place was by Robert Staehlin with a 10.038, 5th place was Billy Cochran with a 10.06, Nick Dinga came out for his first ever X E85 race and qualified 6th with a 10.12,7th place was Rick Noodwang with a 10.24,8th place was Josh Shank with a 10.24, 9th place was Brad Anderson with a 10.28 & Ray Rimito also had a 10.28. These guys mean business and all have the car dialed in.  Saturdays race final was between Josh Shank vs Doyle Jones, but mother nature prevailed and race got canceled. These 2 will finish the final September 24th at GLD to determine the winner.Points are very close and anyone in top 4 can win. I wanted to say thank you for all the work you X E85 guys have done to make this group thrive and be extremely competitive.

Race recap of Finals from 9/3/22 and the race from 9/24/22.  Thank You all the drivers, crew ,family &  friends and sponsors for making 2022 another great season and very competitive. Looking forward to 2023 season. 

Sept 3 race got cut short, but here is a recap. Duane Waldrop makes his return to PRO E85 and off the trailer after 2 engine issues captured The Farmer  Joe and Darlene Hopp #1 qualifier with the 8.900.Awesome 2022 return. Butch Smith got the Randy and Collen lee Bounty Hunter Bonus by beating John Blanchard in the finals. Frank Morgan got the “Valpo Muffler “Higest wheelie bonus and almost hitting the wall doing so.Mike Phipps gets the Marc’s Auto Bullseye bonus with a 8.906. Aaron Miller got the Whites Pit Stop “Fan Favorite bonus.  Mike Phipps made it to the semi finals that got postponed until 9/24. He came to test Friday Night and actually broke the car testing. He drove home Friday Night, got his other car, ran and got Nitrous, drove back to GLD the next Morning and Broke the trans on that car. Mike  Phipps was the only one that could stop John Blanchard from capturing his 3rd Pro E85 title. But unfortunately with the breakages of two cars ,Mike Phipps was not able to compete which then gave John Blanchard his 3rd Pro E85 championship and also won the Langels Pizza of Crown Point Runner up bonus. Cant say enough about how important that Pro E85 championship is as you seen what Mike Phipps did to try to capture his first . Congratulations to  Mike Phipps ,that was dedication and determination. 

Butch Smith made it to his first ever PRO E85 final and winning  the HPL Superoir Lubricant Winner bonus and Langels Pizza of Crown Point Winner Bonus and beat John Blanchard to capture his first ever PRO E85 Win. congrats “Big Dog”.

Race Recap for 9/24/22

We had 10 PRO E85 cars show up to race. Joe Beach  took of the presidential roll this day to . Thank you Joe for stepping up and filling in for me. Great job. Unfortunately Joe Beach ended his day early with a broken rear end. John”Dream Crusher “Blanchard won his 3rd PRO E85 Championship this day.  After 2 rounds of qualifying, Wally Sutherland got his Farmer Joe and Darlene Hopp #1 qualifier bonus. Butch Smith won the Valpo Muffler “Highest Wheelie” Bonus. Randy lee Took out Butch Smith, previous race winner to earn the Randy and Collen Lee Bounty Hunter Bonus. Aaron Miller got the Marc’s Auto “Bullseye “Bonus with a 8.901.John Blanchard won the Davinci reaction time bonus with a .009. After 4 rounds of racing the final was set between Randy Lee and New comer Aaron Miller. Aaron also won Langels Pizza Of Crown Point runner up bonus. This was Aarons first ever final round appearance. Randy lee ended up getting the win light and winning his first race of 2022 season. Randy lee won HPL Superoir Lubricant winner bonus and Crown Point Langels winner bonus.Thank you Ignite race fuels for your sponsorship for suppling the fuel we run on. Race recap and finals from 8/14/22 @ GLD and 9/24/22.First, Helen and I cant thank you ,X E85 drivers, family, crew , Alan Smith  and  fans for making the 2nd season awesome. Thank you for your Commitment and dedication to help grow this group what  it has become today. The finals between Doyle and Josh ran first thing in  morning from 8/14. Josh Shank won over Doyle and put him in the points lead over Aaron Gerling. After 2 rounds of qualifying Doyle Jones  got the number one qualifier. Second  round of elimination, Aaron Gerling lost which then gave Josh  Shank his first X  E85 championship. After 4 rounds of racing the final was between Josh Shank and Ben Kelly, this was Ben Kelly’s first appearance in a final round but unfortunately lost to Josh Shank the 2022 X E85 champion. Josh Shank got another Mr. Fabulous reaction time bonus with a .018. Thank you everyone for always reading my recaps and 2023 is right around the corner lol. Look out we have some new drivers coming in 2023. Everyone have a safe off season.
